The Advancing Kingdom; We are Unstoppable 13
Rev. Dr. Tunde Oladimeji, preaching from Genesis 3:1–15 and Mark 5:1–20, reminds us that the church is called to be evangelistic. When Jesus delivered the man possessed by a legion of demons, the man longed to follow Him. Yet Jesus sent him back to his community with the command to tell others what the Lord had done for him. This moment marked the beginning of evangelism.
In the same way, when we were saved, Christ set us free from sin and spiritual bondage. Our calling is to go into our neighborhoods and communities and boldly share the good news. Paul urges us not to be ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation. Jonah resisted this call, wanting God’s mercy to belong only to his own people, but God alone decides whom He will forgive.
We are not called to make people Christians—that is God’s work. Our assignment is to go and tell. In a world filled with chaos, we hold the answer in Christ. Why would we keep this hope to ourselves, when it is meant for all?
