The Advancing Kingdom - We are Unstoppable 14

Rev. Dr. Tunde Oladimeji preached from Jonah 3:1–10 and Mark 5:1–20, reminding us that the Christian faith is not to be lived haphazardly but with full commitment. There is no separation between what God controls and what we control—He is Lord over all. Jonah resisted preaching to Nineveh because he wanted judgment, not mercy for his enemies. Yet to his surprise, the Ninevites repented, and God relented. Likewise, people we think are too far gone—especially many young people searching for what’s real—are often hungering for God. Repentance cannot be forced, but when it comes, it is powerful.
The foundation of an evangelistic church is the Gospel (John 3:16). Paul declared that he was not ashamed of the Gospel, because it is the power of God unto salvation. The power of the evangelistic church is the Holy Spirit, who gives boldness, wisdom, and compassion, transforming the church into a divine movement. Such a church must also be prayerful—evangelism begins on our knees. Jesus asked the blind man, “What do you want me to do for you?” We too must pray specifically and be ready, because God may assign us to be the answer to someone’s prayer.
Evangelism flows out of love. We cannot truly share Christ with people we do not love, and we are commanded to love even our enemies. This is not optional—it is a command. We should pray even for those with whom we struggle. Sharing the Gospel is not complicated: it begins with telling your story of what God has done in your life.
