Game Time

:1–5 and 1 Corinthians 9:19–27, challenged us to live out our faith with the same passion and commitment we often show for our favorite sports teams. Paul said he became “all things to all people” so he could reach them with the Gospel. Many claim they are “not expressive,” yet even the quietest person becomes vocal when cheering for a team they love. Fans celebrate, sing, join communities, and feel deeply when their team loses.

So the question is: Are we fans of Christ? Are we excited about Jesus and about our church family—the people who walk with us even in our “losing seasons”? We are part of the greatest team of all: the team led by the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. Let us show our devotion to Christ with the same enthusiasm, unity, and commitment we give to earthly teams.
